ACCOMMODATION (B&B, Self-catering and Hotels) in Appin.

The telephone numbers listed are appropriate if dialling from anywhere in Britain. If dialling from within the area (e.g. from Oban) the trunk dialling code 01631 should be dropped but you will still need the 730 part of the number no matter where you are. The bed and breakfast and self-catering places listed below are all the ones I know about. Some are also listed in Tourist Board literature, some are not. The list is in alphabetical order. I haven't put in prices or stars or anything like that so you will need to phone them yourself to check up. Some B&B and self-catering places close in the winter season. Check by phone before you visit. I'm not an expert on bed and breakfast places or on self-catering, but I believe they are all of a good standard although you will, by and large, pay for what you get.I know that a few have gone to some trouble and expense to install en suite facilites and the like and have, accordingly, got a good Tourist Board rating.My own preference is for the little non-registered places where you eat in the kitchen with the proprietor's family and the food is served with a generous helping of local gossip.
