YGGDRASIL

A contemporary novel by Hugh Noble
The setting for this story is Scotland and the Chilean Andes.
An unsual mixture of mountaineering and computing, it is about corruption, power politics and conspiracy in the global computer industry.

Author's Note
This novel was written in the late 1980s/early 1990's. In 1994 it was published in hardback by Little Brown and Company with the title "THE SAGA TREE" (ISBN: 0 316 90675 1). The following year it was published in paperback by Warner (ISBN: 0 7515 1230 3). All publication rights have now reverted to myself and I am therefore able to publish it again in electronic form under its original title. (I was told that no one ever buys a book with a title which begins with a Y and two Gs). That doesn't matter here. You are not being required to pay anything here. I ask only this - if you enjoy it, please send a cheque to Oxfam.

The technology described in the book predates the Internet as we know it today. I have, however, resisted the temptation to revise that aspect of the book and apart from minor editing corrections, the text remains as it was when first published. Other aspects of the technology which form the basis of the plot, if we leave aside the super-human efforts of my hero, continue to be a plausible forward projection of present day technology.
